Best AI Transcription for Nordic Languages

Finding a transcription service that delivers high quality for Nordic languages has long been a challenge. Many of today's solutions are primarily focused on English, making them less relevant for users in the Nordic region.

At Klang.ai, we have chosen to focus on exactly this challenge. We have developed a transcription service that is optimized for Swedish, Danish, and Norwegian, and to ensure that our model maintains the highest possible standard, we have created a unique dataset to test and fine-tune accuracy.

Our dataset consists of over 100 hours of audio from publicly available podcasts, interviews, and lectures, which have been transcribed by professional transcribers. These transcriptions have been carefully reviewed to ensure high quality, and the dataset reflects the reality our users encounter - with longer conversations, speaker changes, and complex linguistic situations. This gives us a more accurate picture of how our model performs under real-world conditions.

Since we never use user data to train or evaluate our AI models, this dataset is a central part of how we assess our model. We have also compared our results with other leading transcription services to see how we stack up against the competition. The results are clear.

What we measure is "Word Error Rate" (WER), which is the standard metric for evaluating transcription models. WER shows how many incorrect words are generated by the model, where errors such as inserted words, omitted words, misspellings, or wrong word order contribute to a higher WER.

Our tests show that Klang.ai has the most accurate model for Swedish, where we perform significantly better than competing services like Microsoft, Google, and Fireflies. For Norwegian and Danish, the results are more even, but we see that there is room for further improvements, especially within the Danish language, something we will focus on in the near future.

What does this mean for you?

Our goal at Klang.ai is to offer the best possible transcription service, and it starts with an AI model that delivers an accurate first draft. The better this draft is, the less time you need to spend on post-processing and corrections. We want you to be able to focus on the important work - the analysis and understanding of your audio material.
